OMFG my music teacher played “Drive My Car” during class xD BEST MUSIC TEACHER EVER
Omfg the guy at my Apple store counter is British 😃😊
First off, OH MY GAHDASDFGHJKLFDAFLKASDF I LOVE THIS PALETTE
I didn’t think it’d be necessary for separate photos of the box and the palette cause they have pretty much identical packaging (the box is on top and the palette itself is below it). And the packaging is so. frickin. AWESOME.
The palette is made out of hard plastic and closes with a magnet (a fairly strong magnet at that) and inside there are ten eyeshadows, you also get a double-ended brush included (like most of Urban Decay’s new palettes). And if you haven’t noticed yet, this is definitely not a neutral palette XD
All shadows were swatched without a primer
Here’s the colors with the camera flash on (◕ω◕)
The colours are (from left to right) Revolt (highly shimmery/bordering on glittery silver), Gonzo (matte turquoise with floating teal pearl), Slowburn (matte coral orange with floating silver pearl), Savage (matte neon/hot pink), Fringe (metallic teal), Chaos (matte Royal blue with floating blue pearl, Jilted (reddish-pink with blue duochrome), Urban (deep violet with blue sheen), Freak (metallic spring green), and Thrash (matte chartreuse with floating silver pearl)
All of these colors are ridiculously pigmented and blend pretty nicely too; since most of the “matte” colors have that floating pearl in them, it makes blending them easier than just plain matte colors.
Also, before people start yelling at me about this, URBAN DECAY DOESN’T LABEL THIS AS AN EYESHADOW PALETTE(even though that’s what a lot of people see it as at first glance). It’s actually labeled as a "Pressed Pigment Pallete," which is why there’s a warning on the back of both the box and the palette saying: WARNING: SLOWBURN, SAVAGE, JILTED, AND URBAN ARE NOT INTENDED FOR USE AROUND THE IMMEDIATE EYE AREA.
A lot of people are freaking out about this but this is not an uncommon occurence. (Usually) Most pigments and even some legit eyeshadows that have red in them or just if they aren’t FDA approved can irritate some people’s eyes. I never had any problems with this, and did not have them with these colors either.
Just randomly experimented with the colors last night :P I have Thrash in the inner part of my lid, then Freak in the center, and a mix of Urban and Chaos on the outer corner and blended Fringe in between that and Freak.
On the lower lashline, I took that mix of Urban and Chaos on the outer fourth, then blended Jilted to about the middle of my lower lashline. On the inner half, I put a mix of Savage and Love + from Sugarpill right next to Jilted and on the inner corner I applied Slowburn and then Revolt over that.
I didn’t apply any blush, bronzer, or highlight since I usually don’t really wear them. On the lips I have M.A.C.’s “O” lipstick (I have a little mini-review of it here).
Yeah, long overdue but here it is :D
Here is what the box of the palette looks like along with the corresponding dual-ended eyeliner (the palette does not come with the eyeliner, you have to buy it separate)
The palette does come with this little booklet that has sample sizes of four of their Primer Potions (the only one not included is Greed, a metallic gold) which is a great way to try the different formulas and finishes of the Primer Potions :D My personal fav right now is the Sin Primer Potion, it’s so pretty worn alone! (ᵔᴥᵔ)
The outer packaging of the Naked 3 palette is tying in with the newer metal cases that Urban Decay started using with the Naked 2 palette. The dual-ended eyeliner that is made for Naked 3 mimics the two darkest colors in the palette, Darkside and Blackheart.
Like the previous Naked palettes, Naked 3 has twelve eyeshadows with most of them being shimmery. All these colors have rose/pink tones to them, the Naked 2 having more grey/taupe, and the original Naked has mostly gold/bronze tones
All the shadows were swatched without a primer
Here’s what the colors look like with the camera flash on
Colors in this photo (left to right): Strange (matte cream/white), Dust (glittery light pink, very flakey), Burnout (light pearly rose), Limit (matte rose/mauve), Buzz (highly shimmery mauve/pink), Trick (highly shimmery gold with a hint of pink), and Nooner (matte neutral mauve)
and again, here’s them with the flash on
Continuation of colors (left to right): Liar (metallic rose taupe), Factory (satin brown with fine rose shimmer), Mugshot (similar to Liar but with more brown), Darkside (deep satin greyish-brown), and Blackheart (matte black with fine red glitter) and also the two corresponding eyeliners in Darkside and Blackheart (same as the eyeshadows)
I should warn that Dust, Buzz, Trick, and Blackheart are heavily prone to fallout if you’re not careful!
Overall, the colors are nicely pigmented, with Dust being the only exception because of how flakey it is when used dry, even over a primer. But, if you apply it either wet or over a glitter base it looks AMAZING.
All in all, this is probably the Naked palette I would reach for the most! A lot of the colors are very wearable and would really compliment a lot of eye colors (my eye colour being a mix of blue, green, and grey) because of the mix of mauve, pink, and rose undertones.
Hope this was helpful to some who are still hesitant on buying the Naked 3 palette :3
waaaaaaaah not a good day my mom found my tumblr and now she’s mad at me about something on it. WHAT IT IS I DONT EVEN KNOW.
